Some Stitches by AshFantastic Some Stitches by AshFantastic
I just had the urge to draw up some simple-ish stitches, because my buttonhole stitch one was quite popular, so here they are.

Use as you wish, I hope they help you in some way :)

And I hope they're clear enough :O

Hi! I am going to attempt my first plushie and your tutorials are very helpful! I can actually understand what I need to do (Which is surprising since I'm sorta slow) and it makes sewing less intimidating! I have actually sewed clothes before and I'm pretty sure my (little) experience will help along with your tuts! Thank you!

:O I will try these later. I've alwaysalwaysalways used the tacking stitch for everything. I only know a couple stitches as I'm completely self-taught and never really read a book/looked up information on stitches that I've been able to retain. Thanks!

Thanks a lot dear, I was searching a good tutorial that can help me to teach my niece about diferent stitches, specially because she's working in a plushie for her art classes and it's to me a lil hard to explain her with words about the stitches I use for my plushies.

Hmm I do something similar to the blanket stitch but it is always on the end of the fabric. (I cut out the pattern then sew) I've always have been sewing that way and now I can sew quite fast that way. (Though sometimes the tread nots and creates loops)
I wish my moms machine worked though :\

can you explain a little bit more about how to do the backstitch to me?
Reply
:iconashfantastic:
AshFantastic Featured By Owner May 26, 2011  Hobbyist Artisan Crafter
Basically, you push the needle through, then rather than sewing forwards, you do a stitch backwards. You then push the needle through just in front of the first stitch, to stitch backwards again :)
